This small village is very close to the beach of the same name near Rincon de La Victoria. The popular coastal resort of Torre del Mar is only a short drive away and on the nearby motorway, completed about two years ago, the airport can be reached in under an hour. The coastal watch tower at Chilches dates from Arab times and is still a well known landmark in the area.It can be seen easily from the coast road N 340 on driving towards the village. A new golf course is planned for the area as well as a four star hotel. Chilches has its bars and restaurants and a quiet relaxed atmosphere just off the old coast road.
